The artsy accessories are in full bloom. And do you know which line I am loving most? Louis Vuitton! From the Watercolor Speedy to the Louis Vuitton Tahitienne Bags, Louis Vuitton has taken a light and fun approach on their spring bags. I’ve caught the LV bug. The Louis Vuitton Tahitienne Bags are hard not to love. They are monogram, but not overly splattered monogram. In fact, while the logo is large, it is still hard to decipher for many that do not know the new items from the brand. The bag is designed with woven cotton canvas and a monogram print with a hand painted effect inspired by a 1924 LV catalog cover. The inside only brings more fun, with smaller Tahitienne print. The shape is perfect for me and the feel is perfect for resort and summer. Actually, I look at this bag and picture myself with my bikini on headed to the beach or out for a day on the boat (or even better on an exotic island vacation!). The rich, vibrant colors are inspired by Paul Gauguin, a Post-Impressionist painter who is known for his bold use of color. Another perk is the adjustable leather shoulder straps and interior strap that can be adjusted to change the shape and capacity of the bags. Ok, I am kind of obsessively in love, I’ll admit it. While the prices are not super cheap, ranging from $1200 to $1600, the bags offer a great summer feel.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Motard Clutch

I continue to find myself checking out the most elegant evening bags, despite the fact that I typically have no where to wear them. But I keep craving a new structured evening bag. Why? I have no idea. I must subconsciously be telling myself to let my hair down, put on a long dress, and go out somewhere fancy (meaning that the casual appeal of Florida has completely set in and thus far I am living a casual chic life). But coming back from Key West, where no shirt and no shoes really is no problem, opting for a new classy clutch is like night and day.

The new clutch on the red carpets is the Louis Vuitton Monogram Motard Clutch, being carried by tall, lean, model types and all other lovers of Louis Vuitton. This is one of the ideal clutches that calls to me; structured, elegant, and classic. The outside is designed with monogram-embroidered silk satin, which is perfect for those of you who are not super keen on the LV monogram. The structured frame-top body is designed with shiny golden brass hardware. There are two other major perks, including the removable long link chain shoulder strap and golden lambskin lining. Small clutches transformed into shoulder bags do not look great on everyone (unless you are super tall and super lean, I am talking about myself too), but it is a great plus. And the luxurious leather lining really is a nice finishing touch, seeing that many LV bags are lined with canvas. Buy through eLuxury for $1,470.

Louis Vuitton Epi Alma

I have never denied or hidden the fact that I am a huge fan of Louis Vuitton. While the monogram line does not always tickle my fancy, I find Louis Vuitton to be one of the longstanding luxury brands left designing bags. Not every bag is a homerun, but there are plenty of great options every season. But if you do not want the glitz and glam, opt for the Louis Vuitton Epi Line. I have brought up the Epi line often, speaking of its ease of cleaning, lack of logos, and overall likability. The Alma comes in a classic shape, is light-weight, and available in an array of colors from the Epi line. Cassis, Ivoire, Black, Red, and Grenade are the colors available in the Louis Vuitton Epi Alma, the textured hand-held carryall which is a staple of the house. The bag is named after the Place de l’Alma, the grand Paris square at the end of Avenue Montaigne. The Alma features textured leather and is trimmed with smooth leather. The inside is lined with Alcantara lining (which is precisely what Vlad goes gaga over in his favorite luxury cars). Buy through eLuxury for $1,240.

The countdown has officially begun for those on the Louis Vuitton Watercolor Speedy list! Luckily I am on the list and I am quite excited to get my Speedy and use it for summer. The only unfortunate part is that it arrives in stores on May 1st, and I fly out May 1st for my trip to Spain. Oh well, I can wait 11 days to get back and get the bag! The other bag that is highly coveted and newly arrived to eLuxury is the Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Galliera. This is a new addition to the Monogram Canvas line for LV and the perfect touch for spring and summer. This bag features the monogram canvas that we all are very familiar with, shiny golden brass hardware, and a LV inventeur plate on the front. The shape will give this bag the perfect slouch, with an adjustable belted leather should strap. The inside is lined with microfiber and there are ample pockets for storage. The PM is already out of stock but the GM, 18.7″x 14.8″x 5.3″, is still readily available on eLuxury for $1,360.

If you are hoping for a Watercolor Speedy make sure to call your local LV! My LV of choice is the fabulous Bal Harbour shops!

Louis Vuitton Watercolor Speedy 35

Louis Vuitton Watercolor Speedy 35

New for Spring/Summer 2008 is the Louis Vuitton Watercolor Speedy 35. This unique line is the iconic House’s newest take on the classic Speedy shape, releasing the beautiful color palette on canvas just last Thursday. More expensive exotic bags with the print had been out since mid-March, from the best of my knowledge.

Meaghan had been on the waiting list for a while, thanks to the wonderful staff at Louis Vuitton Bal Harbour, FL, I was able to pick up this gorgeous bag for her while she’s out touring through Spain. I attached my trusty 60mm Micro Nikkor to the D300 body, and we had ourselves a cozy photo shoot in the back yard by the pool. The colors of the watercolor printed canvas complement the Florida weather well, today’s sunshine really made the colors stand out. I am sure my fiancee will enjoy the Speedy thoroughly after getting back from Europe!

Sadly, this special edition Speedy runs for a whole lot more than the regular Monogram canvas version: $1,270.00. However, it represents a “financially responsible” alternative to LV limited editions without having to dash out many thousands for an exotic bag. If interested, inquire at your local LV boutique to have your name entered on the waiting list.

First and foremost, much of the information on this new bag from Louis Vuitton is still not set-in-stone nor is anyone 100% sure of the truth behind it all. We have all heard conflicting stories, information, prices, release dates, etc. But you know a bag is a sure hit when the rumors begin (sick but true!). Richard Prince collaborated with Marc Jacobs to design artistic bags for the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2008 line. The hottest item right now is the Louis Vuitton Watercolor Speedy which is said to be released in the US on May 1,2008. The release date has been changed numerous amounts of times. Another piece of information that everyone is uncertain of is the price. The early look book says the bag will be $1,185 but I have heard prices going up to $1,600. My wonderful SA at Bal Harbour did some research and believes it will be around $1,300. The next piece of information that has many confused is the size. While the Louis Vuitton Speedy is available in a size 30 and 35, this bag is said to only come in size 35. The monogram pattern is designed in a manner that has the orange, red, and yellow paints looking like they were painted on with watercolor paint. This bag has an incredibly long wait list at many stores and the masses are clamoring to get the next ‘big’ Speedy. The price is said to be around $1,300 via your local LV boutique when available. You can always check eLuxury also.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Tisse Rayure Clutch

Late last week Vlad and I avoided all work for a day and spent the day out enjoying the weather, a great lunch, and some shopping. Shopping in South Florida is like no where else. I could sit and people watch for hours everyday. We were walking down Las Olas (a chic little strip filled with boutiques) in Fort Lauderdale when I noticed a group of 3 women who were incredibly chic. They were chic and at least 80 years old. As they sat on the corner of the street chatting away I caught them reveling in their new purchases for one another, from Louis Vuitton Monogram Tisse Rayure line. While two of the ladies were carrying the Louis Vuitton Monogram Tissé Sac Rayure PM, one of the ladies was carrying my favorite, the Louis Vuitton Monogram Tisse Rayure Clutch. The bags in this line are designed with linen and cotton monogram canvas with a grained leather trim. This line has been designed by Mar Jacobs and pays homage to historical Louis Vuitton trunks. As I watched these ladies, who were dressed fabulously, I fell in love with the bag. It is different, elegant, and timeless. Just as I thought they could not be any more fabulous, their driver pulled up in their Bentley to wisk them away. Sure a Bentley doesn’t always mean you are chic, but these ladies sure were. The clutch has a removable strap for carrying and dimensions are 12.8″x 7.9″x 3.7″. $1,780 via eLuxury.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Sac Baxter PM

Am I the only one that immediately thinks of Anchorman when I hear of a dog named Baxter? Ok, so maybe you did not like the movie, maybe you did not see it, but those of you that did will understand how hard it is to hear Baxter and not think of Will Ferrell’s trusty dog. I could not see Will carrying Baxter around in a pet carrier, but I know many people love to keep their pets with them at all times. Jessica Simpson has been one of the leading ladies seen carrying her pup Daisy in Louis Vuitton dog carrier. Now there is a new version released by Louis Vuitton, the Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Sac Baxter PM which is designed with monogram canvas and trimmed with natural cowhide. This dog carrier looks more like a handbag from the front, sporting a flapped pouch pocket with polished golden brass hardware. The side panel unzips, folds over, and secures with snaps to give the perfect luxury room away from home for your pet. Measurements are 13.8″x 10.4″x 6.5″. I have only had one dog in my life, and he is a black lab who can not fit in a dog carrier. I am not sure that if I had a small dog I would take him/her around with me everywhere, but this is a great option for the owner who loves luxury and their pup. Buy through eLuxury for $1360.

Louis Vuitton to Advertise on Television

On February 15th, Louis Vuitton will venture into a new realm, one that it does not even know. Moving from print Ads, Louis Vuitton will debut on screen showing a travel-themed 90 second television and movie theater advertisement. This clip is not focused on the celebrities, rather on travel, to bring Louis Vuitton lovers together world-wide. The advertisement was shot in France, Spin, India and Japan. LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, described the advertisement as “the first ever on-screen corporate campaign by a luxury house.”

I look forward to seeing one of the quintessential luxury houses on screen. What about you?

Article and picture via New York Times.

IN an unusual marketing move for a fashion and luxury goods brand, Louis Vuitton said Tuesday that it planned to advertise on television for the first time, with a travel-themed 90-second spot that was shot in France, Spain, India and Japan.

The campaign, which will start Feb. 15, will run on cable and satellite television channels and in movie theaters around the world, the company said. It shows ordinary people, rather than celebrities like Catherine Deneuve, Andre Agassi and Mikhail Gorbachev, who are featured in a current print campaign for the label.

Louis Vuitton, a unit of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, described the advertisement as “the first ever on-screen corporate campaign by a luxury house.”

High-end fashion brands and luxury goods companies have generally avoided television advertising, sticking mostly to magazines and, in some cases, newspapers.
